Complete Protection

We offer complete protection with our "Crash and Smash" technology.  You'll have the benefits of false alarm reduction and can relax knowing that if  "Crash and Smash" attach happens, the central station will be notified immediately.

Most systems have entry and alarm reporting delays to allow you to have time to disarm the system when you enter your home.  The system will wait until the end of this delay before reporting an alarm issue.  you need this delay to prevent unnecessary false alarms and police deployment.

However, these delays give an intruder time to find and destroy the alarm panel.   This is known as a "Crash and Smash" event.

What is "Crash and Smash"

Basically, it's when an intruder uses the 'alarm delay' time to find the alarm panel and smash it before it sends an alarm signal.  Our technology prevents this from happening.
Picture

How do we protect you?

We transmit a special 'entry delay' message to our central station.  Our central station is expecting to receive a 'disarm' message.  When it does not, it sends a 'possible crash and smash' signal.  the central station responds and alerts the police.

This alert also works if the intruder doesn't use an entry delay door and finds another way in.  When the security system goes into the alarm state, we transmit a 'pending alarm' signal.  This can then be converted to an alarm state if the system is not disarmed.

This patented technology is just one more reason why we say at Asheboro Alarm and Electric, "We're with you."

Don't get an alarm system from us...

There's really no need to get an alarm system from us.

Unless...

  • You want a local company.
  • You want a company where all the technicians are our employees, not contractors.
  • You want a company where you call us with questions about your system.  Not a far away service center.
  • You want an alarm system with all the latest technology and no hidden fees or tricks.
  • You want a 3 year warranty on your system at no extra charge.
  • You want the peace of mind that comes with knowing "We're with You".

If any of the above are important to you, then maybe you should give us a call.  Too many times, we're contacted after the burglary has happened.  Call us before...it's better.

Check out our alarm packages here.  Then give us a call to get your life and property protected today.

TV Trouble

10/8/2015

We ask quite a few times a day if your home is secure.  But, is your TV secure?  Not secure from thieves, but from falling on a small child.  The statistics are a bit troubling:
Picture
As larger TVs get cheaper and more popular, the risks for injury from falling TVs goes up.  A large screen TV falling onto a small child or toddler can easily cause severe head injuries and brain damage.  It sounds stark I know, but some of these heavier TVs have the potential to crush a small child.
Televisions are seen as a source of interest and fun for small children.  Perhaps they might try to to 'touch' one of their favorite characters.  They might try to climb up a tall dresser to get to the TV.  In many cases, this is asking for disaster.
Here are some simple solutions that might help keep your children safe around TVs.
  1. If possible, mount the TV to a wall.
  2. Don't set the TV at the very front edge of the stand.  Move it to the back of the stand if possible.
  3. Avoid placing large TVs in an area where children play unattended such as a bonus room.
  4. Don't put televisions on tall dressers or stands that weren't designed for a TV.
  5. Don't put toys or interesting objects on top of or near the TV.
  6. Talk to them about the dangers of touching the TV.
  7. Consider securing the TV to a piece of furniture or the wall.  There are several products on the market that will allow you to easily do this.  Some examples are shown below.  Note:  We don't specifically endorse any of these products.  These are just samples of items on the market.

We all enjoy our big TVs.  Let's just make sure we secure them properly and/or observe a few safety rules so we can all enjoy them together (including our sweet little people).

Facts on Falling

8/3/2015

Picture
Of the 35 million Americans over 65, about 1 in 3 will fall in a given year. (Center for Disease Control, “CDC”).

Seniors are hospitalized for fall-related injuries 5 times more often than they are for injuries from all other causes.  Falls are the leading cause of accidental death for seniors.  (Center for Disease Control, “CDC”)

50% of people who fall require assistance from someone else to get up.

After a fall or other emergency, 90% of people who get help within one hour will continue independent living, but after 12 hours without help only 10% of people will continue to live at home. (New England Journal of Medicine)

Nearly one half of the older adults who incur a serious injury never fully recover and many lose their ability to function independently for the rest of their lives. A good proportion end up in nursing homes, making falls and the injuries that result, one of the most substantial health threats facing older adults. (Yale University School of Medicine)

Maybe it's time for a Medical Alert System for that loved one.  Let's get them taken care of.
